Change Of Plans For Chrysler Group, Will Remove The Duplicate, Referring To The U.S. Delta

Brewing continues on the product plan Fiat - Chrysler LLC alliance. The latest news on the Jeep and Alfa Romeo brands offered to detail the group CEO Sergio Marchionne Chrysler LLC on new strategy.

In an interview with Automotive News, Marchionne said the company has revised its Project Genesis plan that was introduced in 2008, when Chrysler was still under the ownership of Cerberus Capital Management.

The two key elements of the plan of Genesis is the merger of the four brands of Chrysler Group dealers, including Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram under one roof (with some exceptions), and remove the two products are the result of the badge engineering, including the Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan.

Regarding the first part of the plan, Sergio Marchionne, said last week, 90 percent of Chrysler dealers in the United States in 2324 were the sale of four brands.

The second part of Chrysler LLC plan will eliminate duplication.

"We can not have the same type of vehicle in the showroom, because the consumer is not stupid," said Sergio Marchionne. "We will create confusion and conflict in the showroom."

Therefore, in future, the group offers only a van, Chrysler Town & Country, and a midsize sedan, the Chrysler 200 replacement that may or may not keep the same name.

Dodge Grand Caravan minivan will replace the Avenger sedan model with a single mid-size crossover in 2013. Next Chrysler 200 and Dodge crossover midsize be built on a common platform for Fiat.

"A cross Dodge line to cover this segment of another person to cover this segment," said Sergio Marchionne.

In addition, Dodge also offers a smaller, compact crossover due later in 2014 and a model four-door compact sedan to replace the gauge, which is scheduled to be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2012

Marchionne said New automatic Chrysler will sell a "kind of sedan" based on the same platform as the Dodge compact sedan and will be sold in Europe as a Lancia, suggesting that the Delta (either in its current form or a new version).

Finally, Chrysler and Fiat Group CEO, revealed that although the previous notification in November 2009 on the development of a new line of models based Fiat subcompact to compete with the likes of Sonic Chevrolet, Toyota Yaris and Ford Fiesta, the company will not go ahead with this plan.

"Our assessment is that the subcompacts have limited jurisdiction," said Marchionne said the company still plans an introduction to Canada and Mexico, but not the United States

"I can present them to Canada and Mexico [from] other places in the world, but I never the center of the United States as the biggest driver of volumes. That will not happen. "
