Ginetta Unveils New G60 Sports Car Powered by a Mustang-Sourced V6

Last week, Ginetta has announced that he would soon unveil a new sports car with a 310HP carbon fiber body. Well, we must admit, a small British car company has kept its promise by launching the G60, the first mid-engine model in its range from the G32 in 1989.

The only thing the new G60 shares its predecessor is the arrangement of the engine. The G60 offers carbon fiber tub and body depends on the Farbio GTS, which itself is based on 2002-Farboud GT.

Ginetta, Farbio acquired last March, the car has been redesigned with an emphasis on weight reduction. Apart from its carbon fiber construction, the new model Ginetta no power steering, power brakes, ABS and electronic stability control. Therefore, tipped the scales at just 1,100 kg (2425 lbs) or 400 kg (881 lbs) less than the GTS.

The 3.7-liter naturally aspirated V6 comes from the Ford Mustang and an estimated 310HP. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a manual gearbox six speeds and a Quaife limited slip differential, while the suspension uses triangles in the corners.

Even if the 310HP is not a boast today's car sports hall, light weight allows G60 to reach sub-4, 0 seconds 0-60 mph (0-96 km / h) time, Sprint, and a top speed of 165 is excees mph (265 km / h).

In addition, the G60 is more exclusive than most competitors because the Ginetta plans to only 50 units.
