
Only three years in the sale of the business running, and the Kia Soul will be modified to improve its position in the market. Set to be unveiled at the Auto Show in New York with the all-new Rio sedan, which we mentioned in our previous post, in 2012 Soul comes with a range of technologies and powertrain improvements, and some updates subtle design days.
Cosmetic differences is excluded from the new projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, a modified hood, shaped front and rear bumper and new LED tail lights. Inside the Kia offer updated audio and adds a new car, "UVO" hands-free infotainment system. There's a new premium package with heated front seats, leather seats, automatic climate control and navigation system.
The most significant changes relate to the current range of engines and the introduction of new six-speed transmissions. By 2012, the soul is a new 1.6-liter four-pot GDI issuing a power of 11 percent more than before 135hp, while returning 28mpg city and 34 mpg on the highway (8.4-6.9lt/100km) resulting in an improvement of 10 percent over the previous engine.
Those seeking more power can also opt for the new 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 160 hp and 143 lb-ft (194Nm) of torque up to 142HP and 115 lb-ft of the output device. The two-liter engine also gets new six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Kia calculates fuel economy mpg in the city of 2.0 liters of 27 and 33 mpg on the highway (8.7-7.1lt/100km) for both models with automatic transmission and manual.
