
Land Rover wants to know if there is an appetite for the next generation of Defence is previewed by a couple of new conceptual models.
To this end, a British car, DC100 and DC100, and brings the sport hardtop convertible 4x4 tests this week in Los Angeles Auto Show to measure the reaction of customers and to examine the possibility of bringing the Defender, the U.S. market.
"Our intention is to present the new champion in the middle of the decade - not much work to do to meet these dates and our concepts are only the beginning of the day," says John Edwards, Director of Land Rover global brand. "We are here to Los Angeles to introduce our DC100 DC100 and concepts of the sport and begin to actively explore the possibility of bringing the future to defend North America."
THE show some of the concepts have barely updates because their world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011. Both iterations DC100 is now riding a new 20-inch alloy wheels shod with Cooper tires off-road, while the hardtop model has already been completed, Land Rover signature combination of "Blue Heritage", painted white ceiling Candy Weiss .
In addition, Land Rover will display a DC100 equipped with accessories such as sending a large air intake "snorkel" to wade through and the roof.
As a concept, the DC100 powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel, while the DC100 Sport gets a 2.0-liter turbo engine fuel, with both models featuring permanent four-wheel drive with a box eight-speed gear and a new generation of Land Rover Terrain Response system. The British company said that both engines are designed with the future of hybridization in mind.
"Our ambition is to create a brand new Defender to a global market that is absolutely true to its original DNA: tough, versatile, durable and capable of," said Edwards. "It would also be developed for the 21st century and adapted to the needs of future generations. "
