New Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible with 580HP Heads to the L.A. Auto Show



Need a new hair dryer? Do not worry, you have General Motors in Detroit as the company announced its intention to lift the veil from the top of the body to its peak production model ever all-new 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible at the Los Angeles Auto Show in the month of in November.

The new soft-top model shares genes with the ZL1 Camaro Coupe coming and it is expected to go on sale in late 2012. The highlight of the convertible is obviously GM's 6.2-liter LSA V8 compressor engine rated 580 horsepower (432 kW) and 556 lb.-ft. of peak torque (754 Nm).

General Motors has pointed out that there is enough power "than starting 2 +2 coupe, the performance of many of the icons such as the Aston Martin DB9 with 470HP and 530HP Porsche 911 Turbo."

To compensate for the convertible is the lack of a unifying roof, GM engineers added alternately embraced under the hood, a reinforcement of transmission support, a hug of the tunnel under the body, a front "X" brace and rigid cradle and rear underbody "V" belts.

The engineers of the company has made some additional structural reinforcements to improve noise and vibration characteristics, and reduce working capital movements and body. These include: a pillar Hydrofoamer tube, an inner reinforcement bracket on the windshield, a front pillar reinforced hinge reinforcements in the rockers.

Like the Camaro ZL1 Coupe Cabriolet is equipped with a third generation of GM's Magnetic Ride Suspension, Performance Traction Management system, and a new body kit that includes a huge hood scoop ventilated.
