NYIAS 2011: Hyundai Pulls The Curtain On The American Market In 2012, Accent



With fuel prices rising again, are efficient sub-compact models like the Accent back in the spotlight. In 2011 New York Auto Show, the automaker, which South Korea has unveiled its latest iteration of the U.S. spec Focus. Sentenced to hit retailers this summer, the Accent 2012 available in both five-door hatchback and four-door sedan body styles and promises to offer the best in its class city fuel economy and 30mpg highway 40 mpg.

Dressed in outfits of famous Hyundai design "fluid sculpture", the new Accent introduces a new aluminum 1.6-liter Gamma with direct injection technology, delivers 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque. The unity of the gasoline four-cylinder is mated to either six-speed transmission with manual or automatic Hyundai invokes only road driving range of up to 456 miles (733 kilometers).

Both body styles ride a 101.2-inch step in new focus, 2.8 inches longer than the previous generation. 66.9 inches in width for all 2011 models increased by 0.2 inches for the year 2012. Accent four-door vehicle's overall length has grown 3.5 inches and 172 inches, while the total length of the new five-door version is 162 inches.

The price of the new Accent starts at $ 12,445 for the GLS four-door and $ 14,595 for the five-door GS, excluding freight charge of $ 750.
