Modern-Day Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA Imagined by French Designer

If the Porsche 911 is the model that even its creators couldn't kill, then Alfa Romeo is surely its brand equivalent in the automotive world. It’s not that Fiat's management didn’t try (willingly or not), but in a peculiar way, Alfa (unlike Saab, for instance) always made a comeback.

Maybe it's the Italian flair that makes you forget sins of the past or the niggles of its current portfolio (Brera seating position, anyone?), but the Alfisti remain faithful to their beloved brand.

One such Alfa Romeo enthusiasts is independent French designer Vincent Montreuil. He may not be Italian, but then again, no one ever said that Alfas were adored only in their home country.

While the Americans are still waiting for the company to stay true to its promise and eventually return to the U.S., Vincent created some pretty convincing renderings of a 21st century Alfa Romeo coupe.

It's a modern day, front-engined, rear-wheel drive iteration of the legendary Giulia GTA of the 1960’s that he made during his last year in arts school.

Just as GTA stood for Gran Turismo Alleggerita (lightweight), messieurs' Montreuil Giulia was conceived, in his own words, as a “sport and light coupe concept". And if it was his call, he would make it really light, only 800 kg (just shy of 1,800 pounds) and give it a 200HP engine.

Now, we know that Alfa is already working on the (mid-engined) 4C and that the Giulia name is earmarked for the (unfashionably late) 159 replacement.

This does not detract from Vincent’s work one bit though. Besides, we wouldn’t bet against the Italians changing the new sedan’s name at the last moment. Either way, feel free to visit his website and perhaps leave your comments.

Maserati will Launch Three New Models Very Soon

The Fiat Group may have its talk about of issues, especially in The european union, yet CEO Sergio Marchionne lately declared that its second most famous model, Maserati, will soon start no less than three new designs.

“Maserati will improve its amounts by having three cars”, said Marchionne after the CBI discussion in Ones the other day. According to Indian distribution Car Paper, Marchionne said that these would be the Kubang SUV, the Quattroporte replacing and a scaled-down sized four-door sedanthat will participate in the E-segment against companies the Jaguar XF and BMW 5-Series.

The Fiat manager also verified that “the contributor structure [for the scaled-down sized sedan] is the Chrysler 300, but the revocation is absolutely different and the machines are absolutely Ferrari/Maserati.”

He also said that Maserati would continue to be, for the greatest piece, an Italian language carmaker: “Apart from the Kubang, the big bars will remain in Italia. There is a website in Modena that creates the Quattroporte. There can be some concern to what happens to that place after the Quattroporte. There is plenty of common function in what we’re doing between the scaled-down sized car and the larger one that we can do what we want.”

Last, but not least, he resolved the concern of VW being considering the getting Alfa Romeo: “Alfa in VW’s palms would not be Alfa” he said, professing that the In german group’s program technique would change the changeable personality. Besides, he included, Alfa is currently not up on the market now.

However, Marchionne did not procedure out this going on later on if someone created Fiat an provide it could not refuse…

As for the question, what kind of car would be the beginning of the Spider and 4C, the answer may be both a simple fabric top, or more interesting, the roof panel similar to that used in the rotary Ferrari 575 Super America and more Renault recently in the wind.

Naturally, 4C Spider keep the same hardware as the coupe with gasoline engine 1.75-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 200 horsepower or more to the rear wheels through a dual clutch transmission.

Take a look at the two performances below and tell us what you think in the comments section.
