1972 Lamborghini Miura SV Rare RHD Auction Views



Enzo Ferrari could not have known then, but when he celebrates Feruccio Lamborghini rejected as a "tractor manufacturer", it planted seeds to create not only a beautiful vehicle, but a whole class of super cars.

The Lamborghini Miura was released in 1966 and surprised everyone, not only for its design but also to your specifications. It had disc brakes and independent suspension at all and most importantly, it was powered by a V12 mid-engined Miura that allowed to reach a top speed of 180 mph (290 km / h).

Miura stopped production cycle of 765 units. Of these, only 150 of the SVS, which means "Sprint Speed". 385HP Miura SV which was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1971 was the final version will greatly improve the manageability, the wider Campagnolo wheels with Pirelli tires, ventilated discs and an optional ZF limited slip differential.

An example of this rare conversion in 1972 with the number of right-hand drive chassis with a fully rebuilt 5036 V-12 that covered only 100 miles (160 km) is for sale at RM Auctions. It has a factory fitted air conditioning, limited slip diff, packet radio and cloth and Alcantara interior trim weird.

Of course, this car attracts only those who have (very) deep pockets: RM Auctions estimates that fetches around £ 750,000 - £ 900,000 (U.S. $ 1.18 to 1.4 million $). The auction will take place in London on 26 October.

Ferrari CEO Says Enzo Replacement Coming Next Year, may get V12 Hybrid

The next big thing to come from Ferrari will be the long awaited sequel to flagship of the Italian company, Enzo, to be unveiled before the end of 2012. The news comes straight from the mouth of the CEO Amedeo Felisa Ferrar spoke to reporters at the launch of the new Spyder 458 Italia.

Felisa also told the British magazine Autocar that the Enzo replacement will continue to use a mid-mounted V12 engine and the company is considering the use of hybrid technology, "Ferrari is testing prototypes of hybrid vehicles."

CEO of Ferrari was quick to emphasize that any hybrid supercars employee of the company "must focus on improving efficiency, not only on results."

Asked about the use of carbon materials lightweight but super-strong composites in the construction of its cars, Felisa said: "For a small amount of car as Enzo, which focuses on the minimum weight possible, it is good solution. "

However, unlike McLaren MP4-12C and the Executive Committee took note of the Italian company Ferrari do not make regular production models, like the 458 with carbon composite materials, "Today, it has sense," Felisa said. "The benefits of weight aluminum chassis [as 458] are very small and the costs are enormous. In the case of an accident, is also very difficult to determine whether the chassis has been damaged."
