Lotus Evora S With 350HP Supercharged Evora IPS Reveals Clutch

Now that the little docile Moscow Motor Show is out of our mind, that everyone should look forward to the feast that is Epic Design in Paris Motor Show. While I look forward to the usual madness Citroën, there will be "normal" again cars. Take for example the "Loti".

The operation of the model is simply called the Lotus Evora S, and not nearly enough for the old school graphics Lotus for my taste. But what is missing-what vintage is compensated by the large letters and sinuous, which means that the car crammed space. When the fan from the top of the Toyota (which is a fairly reliable) 3.5-liter V6, put it down to a very ESPRIT-esque 350 horses.

In what appears to be a marketing mistake, or an attempt to disturb the current owners Evora, Lotus CEO Dany Bahar said: "Do not you realize what is in your driving experience to take the wheel of the S . Evora "I'm glad I held on to Evora original deposit, otherwise I'd be looking like a fool indeed.

Other features of the new Evora S include the compressor, a standard Sport Package (with a sport button that adjusts the throttle response and commitment are the exhaust bypass valve), and a rear diffuser with a killer vent the center of the mouth. There is also a HUD rotors-drilled and cons, but hey, that's the kind of thing you expect in a car like this anyway.

Other Lotus will make its debut in Paris in Evora IPS (Intelligent Precision Shift). Let's see how easily this can be described as: self-Lotus. Pronto.

It 'packs 280 horses, and passes through a 6-speed automatic that is "Lotus developed transmission control", and then it is also God, I'm tired already. He received a Sport mode and paddle, and meets all the requirements, there are people - Lotus says in Asia, Middle East and the Americas - who want a sports car, but prefer to cruise around without really need to know what the foot of the mysterious the third.

2011MY Saab 9-3: Cleaner Diesel And New 163HP 2.0 Petrol XWD

The 2011 model year brings another set of improvements Saab has long been a replacement, 9-3, consists primarily of adjustments to the program diesel engine.

In particular, all three diesel models benefit from the advanced twin turbocharger technology, which not only helps to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, but also adds a few more ponies. 1.9 liter turbo diesel engine series, is already 130HP TTiD unit, which replaces the previous engine 120HP, 160HP version, in which the site is 150HP engine, and the area-topping 180HP variant.

Saab said that the revised diesel engine and manual transmission, 9-3 sedan returns combined cycle fuel consumption of 4.5 lt/100km (62.8 mpg U.S. or 52.3mpg UK) and 119 g / km of CO2 emissions. For Wagon, the corresponding figures are 4.6 km and lt/100 122 g / km, and the Saab 9-3 Convertible, 160HP and 180HP diesel engine available, lt/100 5.1 km and 134 g / km.

To further optimize emissions and fuel consumption, Saab has also implemented a range of control efficiency, recalibrated the engine and the power, speed, revised low-resistance tires, improved aerodynamics, the rear of underbody deflector blades and reduced weight by using a lighter and healthier soundproofing materials.

Swedish car manufacturer, all turbo diesel line-up is also useful in some of these measures (no specific details are not published), while the average fuel consumption and reduce CO2 emissions by 7 percent.

For the 2011 model year, Saab is also introducing a new model of the gas line that combines a gasoline engine 163HP turbo Company XWD four-wheel drive system.

Other improvements for model year 9-3 includes the addition of a "gear change indicator in the instrument panel on all models, two new exterior colors, one of the perforated leather-wrapped wheels on Aero models, a system lock-up clutch on manual transmissions and the child seat anchor points, and new rear engine style badges after 9-5 Sedan.

The 2011MY Saab 9-3 will debut at the Paris Motor Show this month.

Official: New Volvo V60 Plug-In Diesel Hybrid to go on Sale in 2012

Volvo announced today that the plug-in hybrid version of its V60 estate that has been developed in collaboration with the energy supplier Vattenfall of Sweden and unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last March, will go on sale in selected markets in 2012.

The new V60 plug-in hybrid combines a 215HP 2.4-liter five-cylinder turbodiesel with 70 hp electric motor that draws power from a 12kWh lithium-ion battery. The internal combustion engine which drives the front wheels while the electric motor sends power to the rear wheels.

The driver can choose between three driving modes: Pure, Hybrid and Power. The first electric propulsion mode allows up to 50 km (31 miles) while the two others combine the two engines, with "hybrid" gives priority to low fuel consumption and "Power" for maximum performance.

The batteries can be fully charged in about five hours in a standard outlet.

The plug-in hybrid V60 has a maximum range of 1,200 kilometers (746 miles), and according to Volvo, a combined fuel consumption of 1.9 km lt/100 (123.8mpg) returns, but this figure includes the use of motor Electrical.

The automaker said the operating cost of electricity in Sweden is estimated at about 25 crowns (3.0 euros or USD 3.7) per 100 km (62 miles).

"An important aspect of the project was to retain the pleasure of driving the Volvo V60 high-quality, high safety and comfort of luxury," said Stefan Jacoby, President and CEO of Volvo Cars. "At the same time, the average CO2 emissions and fuel consumption is reduced by half in comparison with what is available on the market today," he added.

Volvo has not yet announced pricing and availability specifics, but said that due to the cost of the battery, the V60 plug-in hybrid will be more expensive than the regular versions.

New Volvo Concept Heading to Frankfurt to Showcase Engine and and Platform Tech

[Volvo Universe Concept from the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show Pictured Above]

Volvo announced today that it plans to reveal a new concept car at next week's Frankfurt Motor show. This new study, pictures of which have not yet been released, will highlight the Swedish company’s new downsized engine range, which will feature only four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines.

“It’s time to stop counting cylinders”, said Volvo’s Senior Vice President for Research and Development, Peter Martens. “The concept we will reveal at Frankfurt proves that downsized engines can go hand in hand with our customers’ expectations on luxury and driving pleasure.”

The new modular Volvo Environmental Architecture (VEA) four-cylinder engine range features direct injection for its gasoline and common rail for its diesel variants. According to Martens, the new engines are ideal for hybrid applications and will reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions without sacrificing performance.

“We will develop four-cylinder engines with higher performance than today’s six-cylinder units and lower fuel consumption than the current four-cylinder generation," said Martens.

Volvo claims that the VEA range, which is designed for transverse applications, will reduce the number of unique engine parts by an impressive 60%. It will also be up to 90 kg (198 pounds) lighter than the current range and improve fuel consumption by up to 35%.

Later this autumn Volvo will also test the Kinetic Energy Recovering System, which captures braking energy that would otherwise be dissipated as heat and power a flywheel that spins at up to 60,000 rpm. This system that is already used in Formula 1 will “offer the driver an additional 80HP while reducing fuel consumption by up to 20%," according to Martens.

Last, but not least, Volvo announced that it is developing a new model range that will be based on a new, modular structure called Scalable Platform Architecture (current Volvo models are based on previous owner’s Ford platforms) that will also be 100-150 kg (220-330 pounds) lighter than current models.

The SPA architecture will allow the company to base most of its new models on the same modular platform, thus achieving significant cuts in development, tooling and manufacturing costs. And, as Martens claims, “along with the new engine range, will enable us to be on par or even beat our toughest competitors in driving dynamics and fuel economy.”

The new engines and platform will also benefit future models looks as the company’s head of design, Peter Horbury, said that the Frankfurt concept will be “a great example of what we can achieve with the new architecture and engines.”
