2013 Cadillac XTS in the Flesh

Today's news was the presentation of the brand new Cadillac luxury sedan XTS full-size, and we have some new pictures and two new videos, including one that looks like a car on the road (although not the best quality) to share with you.

It has been some confusion as to which segment they belong to the XTS, as it will replace two models of the Cadillac STS rear-/all-wheel disk and front-wheel drive only DTS.

While the new XTS sedan is Cadillac's most important and as such should be the model of the brand of Saloon, it is not the purpose of suffering from the BMW 7 Series or Mercedes S-Class

Instead, it is in the size of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and S-type models, and is probably much lower price than the other two cars. In other words, the confusion caused by the same current CTS, which slots between the BMW 3 - and 5 series models.

You can learn more about our post XTS detail here, but remember that the new Cadillac offered a 300 hp 3.6-liter V6 coupled 6SP automatic transmission, and the possibility of either front or all-wheel drive.

The XTS mounted on a hefty 111.7-in. It also has a spacious trunk with 18 cubic feet (509 liters) of space.

Exterior styling Cadillac has more enthusiasm than the DTS / STS models, and almost identical to the prototype last year XTS Platinum.

The interior is also a step in the right direction, but the Cadillac is installed in the number of electronic gadgets as CUE highlighted the automaker a new infotainment system, which comes with 8 inches, and the center console, and 12.3 inches convertible available in the cluster, which provides a driver selectable four subjects, a minimum of complete information.

There is more technology under the skin like the XTS comes with GM's Magnetic Ride Control, rear air suspension, strut front suspension and Brembo brakes HiPer series. In addition, the larger Caddy is also available with a drive system optional Haldex all-wheel drive with electronically controlled limited slip differential.

The XTS is powered by a GM 3.6-liter V6 with direct injection technology produces 300 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 264 lb-ft (358Nm) of torque at 5,300 rpm up very high. The LFX V6 linked to a Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic transmission with shift takeover.

Cadillac Announces XTS Luxury Sedan Debut at LA Auto Show

On Wednesday, for a split second only, General Motors posted a photograph of the new 2013 Cadillac XTS on its U.S. website by mistake, but that was more than enough time for the picture to be shared all over the world.

Since there's no point in hiding anymore, GM today released a full-blown version of the same image in high-resolution providing us with a more detailed look at Cadillac's new flagship model that replaces both the DTS and the STS in the carmaker's lineup.

Previously, we had a chance to get a peek at the new XTS's interior with a cutout dashboard meant to show off the firm's new CUE (Cadillac User Experience) infotainment, navigation and communication system that will launch in 2012, not only in the full-size sedan, but also in the ATS compact saloon and SRX crossover.

There are very few details about the powerplant options that will be available on the new XTS when it goes on sale in the States next spring, but GM's 3.6-liter direct-injection V6 should be a prime candidate.

We'll have more on Cadillac's new luxury sedan from the LA Auto Show floors next week.
