Renault ZOE Preview Teases 2012 Production EV and Hints at Next Clio

One or two sizes above the Twizy quirky place to sit is the Renault ZOE Preview. Along the lines of last year cut ZOE ZE, ZOE Preview is a more realistic look at the production version will be available in 2012 to wear the face of newer Renault. Not only that, but it can just be seen (ZING!) the next Clio.

Equivalent in size to the Clio, this small electric econobox gets some high-end technologies of comfort for passengers who may or may not appear in the production model (Renault claims 90% of what you see here is what you get ). For residents to feel comfortable that Zoe has an air conditioner to control humidity with a toxicity sensor and integrated air freshener.

Oh, there's more, do not worry. It also provides "light therapy" that is developed in collaboration with Philips (apparently a "recognized expert in the world of light therapy").

The concept shown here is 4.1 meters long and mounted 19-inch wheels. For production, the dimensions will be similar, but these wheels? Probably will not happen. Power comes from a power of 80/60 kW electric motor that is 222 Nm / 164 lb-ft of torque.

Charging takes 6-8 hours and can be done (mostly) in two different ways: either a junction box that connects to an electrical outlet at home, or as an accessory EVSE (electric vehicle supply equipment). Renault should go to a junction box for convenience. Also possible, infrastructure should be reflected in a time soon, is what the company calls "quick charge" This gives the car to 37 kilometers of the race in case of emergency only ten minutes of charging.

Israelis and Danes can also have the option of Quick Drop batteries, which means that there will be stations that will change your backup battery used in a few minutes.

Color me Matte: New Renault Clio RS 200 “Ange & Démon” Edition to be Produced in 666 Units

Renault is playing the good versus evil card with its new limited run Clio Renaultsport 200 “Ange & Démon”, which is French for Angels and Demons. Deviously, the bespoke version of the Clio RS will be produced in a…fiendish 666 units worldwide - as most of you already know, that's the number of the Beast in the Book of Revelation.

Buyers can choose among three different matte shades, including Toro Red, Givre Nacré and Hologramme Grey, all of which feature a gloss black finish for the roof, upper tailgate, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, F1-style blade in the front bumper, the door handles and exterior door mirrors.

The bespoke Clio RS also gets tinted rear side and tailgate windows, gloss black 18-inch Interlagos wheels from the late Mégane R26.R shod in Bridgestone RE50A tires, and red Brembo brake callipers.

On board, the “Ange & Démon” is distinguished by the leather-upholstered Recaro bucket seats, the zinc grey finish on the center console and fascia inserts, plus the white rev counter, Renaultsport carpet mats and a numbered plate under the hand brake.

There are no mechanical changes with the “Ange & Démon” being powered by the standard Clio RS' 200-horsepower 2.0-liter engine.

Strangely enough, the same model will be sold in the UK under a different name, and without the “Ange & Démon” decal on the left hand side of the rear quarter window pillar. The British version is called the Clio RS Raider of the lost Ark and will be available in a limited run of 50 examples.

Sales in France start today while UK buyers will have to wait until the end of October.
