Porsche Presented The New 911 Cabriolet With The Light Of The Roof Structure



Well, it was not long, right? Only a few months after the inauguration of a new car at Frankfurt Show 911 Coupe Porsche today revealed the Cabriolet version of the famous model in the series.

As expected, Porsche has opted for a soft top instead of the canvas roof units used by some of its rivals in 911. However, the new cover does not use the multilayer structure of the fabric of the last 997 models, but the composite materials that are supported by a new magnesium frame, which is said to reduce weight.

In addition, Porsche claims the design gives the typical 911 slogan of being "preserved in its entirety" on the convertible model.

During his steel-aluminum skin, the new Porsche 911 Cabriolet fixed roof sibling identical. It rises on a new platform with a longer wheelbase with the power coming from the same flat-six engine of 350HP, 400HP 3.4-liter, 3.8-liter flavors for the Carrera and Carrera S, respectively, and a selection of manual or dual-clutch PDK transmission, both with seven speeds.

The new Porsche 911 Cabriolet will be launched in Germany March 3, 2012. Starting price (in Germany) of € 100,532 (U.S. $ 136,040) for the Carrera and € 114.931 ($ 155.515 U.S.) for taxes, including the Carrera S.

State sale will begin in the spring of 2012, 911 Carrera Cabriolet at a price of U.S. $ 97,300 and the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet U.S. $ 108,000.

In Britain, 911 Carrera Cabriolet prices £ 79.947, and Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet from £ 89 740.
