Startech-Tuned Range Rover Evoque to Debut at Dubai Motor Show

Evoque is not only the range of newer models and smaller Rover, but also uniquely designed crossover to declare a new philosophy of the British brand.

StarTech, a sub-brand Mercedes-Benz Brabus specialist, has developed a path-oriented package of tuning as well as three and five door versions of the Evoque, which debuts this week in 2011 at the Dubai International Motor.

The package includes a new front design and rear bumpers, grille, spoiler and air intakes, which is said to have been developed in the wind tunnel to reduce lift on the front axle at high speeds.

The Star-Tech Evoque listening also features an integrated rear diffuser and new exhaust pipes can be installed on the standard exhaust or muffler own Star Tech stainless steel.

The ride height has been lowered by 35 mm (1.4 inches) and the wheels were replaced by standard 21-inch five-spoke forged alloy Monostar R 265/40 performance tires. Customers can also opt for 20 - or 22 inches.

Changes inside include custom upholstery leather and Alcantara not only with black and white colors of the car show, but also preferred in all colors and customer design. Wood or carbon fiber trim to finish the treatment of Startech.

SI4 performance 2.0-liter engine kit gasoline, which is a standard power 240hv, is nearing completion of development, with details revealed later.

SpeedART Treats New Porsche Panamera Diesel with More Power and Aero Bits

The PS9-300D is SpeedART's newest performance package that bundles aero add-ons with modest engine upgrades for the recently introduced Porsche Panamera Diesel.

The German tuning firm starts out with the Panamera's 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 diesel that leaves the Stuttgart factory with 250-ponies and a peak torque of 550Nm (406 lb-ft) channeled to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

A SpeedART sport exhaust system and a software optimization program help boost these numbers to 300-horses and 650Nm (479.4 lb-ft).

Other upgrades include new brakes and a set of 22-inch alloy wheels wrapped around beefy tires size 265/ ZR22 up front, and 305/ ZR22 at the back.

The tuner also offers the PS9 aero package comprising of a front lip spoiler, side skirts, rear diffusor, front and rear air intakes and rear wing.

IAA 2011: Suzuki Reveals the New Swift Sport

A little over month ago, Suzuki released a single photo and gave us some basic information about its new Swift Sport. Now, the Japanese firm's sporty hatchback has made its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Swift Sport looks like a normal Swift that’s been working out. Its front end sports a new grille and larger air intakes but it’s the rear end, with its diffuser and the two exhausts placed on either corner that really makes a difference.

Although it’s a completely new model, the new Swift Sport shares its M16A 1.6-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine with its predecessor. However, in the new model maximum output has increased from 125 to 135 HP and torque from 148 to 160 Nm (109 to 118 lb-ft).

Despite the increased performance, average fuel consumption has dropped from 7.0 lt/100 km (33.1 mpg) to 6.4 lt/100 km (36.7 mpg) and CO2 emissions have been reduced by 11%, from 165 to 147 g/km.

Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox (the previous generation had a five-speed unit) designed exclusively for the Swift Sport with a triple-cone syncromesh in 1st and 2nd gears for easier shifting and a larger counterweight at the end of the shift lever that enables faster and smoother gear changes.

Of course, a Sport-badged model needs an appropriately tuned chassis in order to justify its name. So the new Swift Sport features a completely redesigned rear suspension with greater toe and camber rigidity and larger wheel bearings for better stability. Increased front and rear spring rates and added rebound springs at the front struts ensure better handling along with improved comfort.

The new Swift Sport will be manufactured, like all versions of the Swift, at Suzuki’s plant in Hungary and will be available in European markets from October.
