Kia Goes Racing with 2012 Rio B-Spec and Optima Hybrid USTCC Pace Car



Looking to further connect itself with the community of motor sporting after the first two motor sporting competition in businesses historical past in this year's Ls Fatigue Athletics Car Task (CTSSC), Kia now revealed two more track-ready designs at this year's SEMA Show, the 2012 Rio 5-door B-Spec racecar and the Optima Cross speed car.

Developed in relationship with Kinetic Motorsports, the new Rio 5-door B-Spec speed will participate in the fresh well-known store share sporting training against various subcompact challenges such as the Mazda2, Honda Fit and Honda Fiesta starting from 2012.

All-New 2012 Kia Rio Sedan for North America Breaks Cover

After implementing the China market K2 Kia sedan Shanghai Auto Show 2011 on Tuesday, the automaker's South Korean subcompact sedan siblings exposed North America to be sold under the name of Rio de Janeiro. Although K2 and Rio share the same foundation that the sedan versions of the saloon of the brand new Rio, which opened in Geneva in March, the two designs exclusive role models outside.

Kia Rio said that the new return is estimated at 30 mpg city and 40 mpg highway (7.8-5.8L/100km). Rio will be offered with Kia's ISG Technology Start-Stop.

All-New 2012 Kia Rio 5-Door Hatch Priced from $14,350* in the U.S



Unveiled earlier this year alongside its four-door sedan counterpart at the 2011 New York International Auto Show, the all-new 2012 Kia Rio 5-door hatchback launches in the States with a starting price of $13,600 for the manual gearbox model, not including a $750 destination and handling fee (*total $14,350).

If you prefer an automatic transmission, the starting price is $15,450, while the range-topping SX trim will set you back $18,750, with all prices including the $750 destination fee.

The new subcompact hatchback is offered in three trim levels (LX, EX and SX) with the basic model offering standard air conditioning, electric power steering, an audio system with USB and SiriusXM satellite radio, plus several safety features, including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM).

All 2012 Rios are equipped with a 1.6-liter GDI four-cylinder engine with the option of either a six-speed manual gearbox (LX only) or a six-speed automatic transmission.

The gasoline unit delivers an output of 138HP returning 30mpg city and 40 mpg highway. Kia will also offer the Rio with its ISG start / stop technology that improves city fuel economy to 31mpg city while maintaining the same figure on the highway.
