Nissan to Show New Yorkers NV200 Taxi of Tomorrow in November



In May of this year, Michael R. Bloomberg announced that New York taxis and Limousine Commission (TLC) has chosen the Nissan NV200 minivan taxi as exclusive New York for the next 10 years, from late 2013.

Now, the general public as well as Taxi Association can see and hear in person the cab Nissan NV200 almost a year before it comes into service tomorrow at Nissan Taxi Design Expo, which runs from November 1 to 5 is a pedestrian square in front of the Flatiron Building, Broadway and Fifth Avenue.

"Nissan NV200 Taxi is the first taxi in the world to offer new features developed and iconic, and New Yorkers," said Joe Castelli, vice president, Nissan Fleet & Commercial Vehicles.

"The Expo Design Taxi of Tomorrow will offer a first look at these sustainability one of a kind services, including legroom, plenty of light inside, and materials that reduce odor and germs while supporting" said Castelli.

The taxi NV200 is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder powertrain and promises to provide "a large place" for four passengers and their luggage.

Among other highlights are a nuisance horn falls outside lights to show when in use, the sliding doors and handles input stage, a moon roof in the shade regardless of the rear air conditioning and a mobile station for passengers load that comes with a 12 V outlet and two USB ports.
