A group of local students and teachers had the opportunity to visit the state of the art McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, and take a look at its manufacturing processes MP4-12C.
McLaren Automotive Factory Tour is part of the British government "Look Inside Manufacturing" campaign, and was organized in collaboration with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
The initiative aims at students who were selected by a competition to design their own transport vehicle that is an issue as quickly as possible at a distance of 10 m, to see the inner workings of the engineering firms. The government wants to attract some of these young people to this area, making the "boring" in the head and the prospects for increased technical capacity in the UK.

The first part of the tour consisted of young visitors and their teachers pass the "Boulevard" McLaren Racing Products.
They were then discharged, usually limited to areas of the wind tunnel, and a laboratory, where they are manufactured to the Formula 1 racing division.
Brad Fincham, a manufacturer of dynamic test engineers, both in what he said inspired him to choose their profession and what it means to be a mechanical engineer and car racing.
McLaren's head designer, Frank Stephenson later gave a rare glimpse of the new MP4-12C.
"Challenge of production McLaren is a great way for students of engineering and design," said Stephenson. "I was very impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication that the students have approached their vehicle. They have clearly done a lot of work and give to their efforts."
