New Brabus 800 Mercedes-Benz Coupe Lands at Dubai Motor Show

The latest Mercedes-Benz CL 600 is a great road, but how do you do better? In fact, how make what Brabus calls "luxury coupe fastest and most powerful in the world"?

To start, you take the standard V12 bi-turbo 5.5-liter and a grant-designed Brabus crankshaft with a longer stroke, increasing the cylinder bore and larger pistons. Now that you have a V12 with a displacement of 6.3 liters, you add four new camshafts and beautiful machine the two heads of the V12 in order to optimize the flow of the mixture.

This is just the beginning: to replace the file with the new twin turbos, high-performance turbochargers with custom exhaust manifolds with integrated turbine housings. You can install four water-air cooler to keep temperatures under control, and a cap integrated carbon fiber ram air intake and exhaust system to replace the CL with a new, stainless steel unit with the free movement of the catalysts.

Then, the ECU must be reprogrammed to coordinate all these new high performance parts not only for maximum efficiency, but also for the Euro 5 emissions standards.

As you may have already guessed, this is not your average job development. It could not be outrageous for the production of 800 Brabus 800HP and 1420 Nm (1047 lb-ft) of torque (limited electronically in 1100 Nm/811 lb-ft), in which case all other luxury Grand Tourer specifications your mirrors.

The numbers speak for themselves: the CL listening accelerates from 0-100 km / h (0-62 mph) in 3.9 seconds, 0-200 km / h (0 to 124 km / h) in 10.3 seconds, and when an electronically limited top speed of 350 km / h (217 mph).

All this power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a heavily reinforced five-speed automatic transmission that can handle the enormous torque, and the 295/25 ZR 21 rear tires. A suspension lowered by 25mm, a limited slip diff with a rate of 40% blocking and all the electronic stability system is responsible for handling - and if you smoke your specially developed rear Continental, Pirelli or Yokohama within seconds, you can completely disable gadgets.

When such performance, updated braking system is a necessity. Therefore, Brabus has a 405 mm ventilated front discs and six-piston cross-drilled 380 mm front and rear disc four-piston calipers that not only ensures maximum braking power, but also for a long while braking at high speed.

Of course, the 800 Coupé is fitted with a Brabus body kit designed and had full leather and Alcantara Brabus logos-Plus treatment inside.

The 800 Coupé can be purchased as a new car, or alternatively, the package can be installed on any current generation CL 600.
