There's a new kid in town frugal, or rather in Japan, the Suzuki Alto 2012 Eco promises an impressive fuel economy of up to 32 km / L (~ 75.3mpg U.S. or 3.1lt/100km) in Cycle 10 - Japanese test 15 and 30.0 km / L in JC08 test cycle.
For the series more fuel efficient Suzuki Alto is powered by 0.66 liters R06A new three-cylinder engine with a start / stop taken from the third generation MR Wagon. It produces an output of 52 horsepower at 6000 rpm and maximum torque of 63Nm (46.5 lb-ft) at 4000 rpm.
Better continuously variable transmission (CVT) manages power switching functions of the front wheels.
The High Eco 2012 will be available in Japan in two trim levels, "S" and "L" with a price of ¥ 995,000 (U.S. $ 12,830) and ¥ 895,000 (U.S. $ 11,540), respectively. Sales will begin December 13.
