Renault Latitude Flagship Premieres in Moscow



We first heard about Renault Latitude in June, but now the French manufacturer unveiled its new flagship sedan to the public for the first time at the Moscow International Motor Show. What is really a substitute for Vel Satis controversial style placed on the Renault Laguna line-up is a Samsung SM5 sedan 2010 in disguise - if you can call a new grille and badges a different "costume" ...

Latitude manufactured in South Korea, Busan, South Korea, Renault Samsung Motors plant, and will be available in late September in Morocco and Algeria, then in Russia and Ukraine, and Africa. Renault has the European version of the car especially the engine, dashboard and exterior details next month's Paris Motor Show.

For now, the car is the largest French manufacturer of measuring 4887 mm long, 1832 mm wide, 1,483 mm high with a wheelbase of 2.760mm. This is more than 195 mm, 19 mm wider and 45 mm longer than the Laguna hatchback. According to Renault, the compartment can hold 477 liters of boot, or 511 liters without spare wheel.

In Russia, the Latitude comes with a choice of two power plants. The entry level 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 139HP and 191Nm of torque, and provides a continuously variable transmission (CVT) return combined fuel consumption efficiency 8.3lt/100km (28.4mpg U.S.).

The flagship 2.5-liter gasoline V6 177HP and 233Nm churns, and is combined with a six-speed automatic transmission. Renault says that latitude when an engine speed of 209 kmh (131 mph) and returns a combined fuel consumption of 9.7lt/100km (24.2mpg U.S.).

For some markets, the composition also includes a 2.0-liter diesel with 150HP and 175HP, V6 diesel and a 3.5-liter V6 240hv diesel produces 240hv.
